Are you a mega-wealthy car enthusiast that’s always eager to be first in line when it comes to supercars? Here’s a tip for you: Buy a plane ticket (or fuel up the jet) and head on down to Florida for the Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance.

Now in its fifth year, this upper-crust car show has been gaining momentum in the concours community, in part by scoring a lot of “firsts” for the auction portion of its event. Auctiongoers in past years have had a shot to buy the first U.S. examples of the Audi R8 5.2 FSI V10 and Spyder R8, Ferrari California and 458 Italia and the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.

On the docket for this year’s festivities? How does the 2012 Ferrari FF, 2012 Audi R8 GT and 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster. According to The DuPont Registry, each car will be the first of its kind sold in the United States. If you need to pick up something for your kids or the wife, Mercedes has also supplied a 2012 CLS63 Limited Edition, of which only 30 are to be made – and, of course, this is also the very first one sold.

*UPDATE: If you were booking travel arrangements to Florida with the goal of winning yourself the first example of Ferrari’s FF shooting brake… don’t. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County (the organization for whom the concours auction is to benefit) has issued a formal retraction – the Ferrari FF will not be available for auction. Please read the official press release after the jump for more details.

Holden Efijy Concept to be honored at Motorclassica Concours in Australia

Holden Efijy Concept

The Holden Efijy Concept is set to have a little extra (and very well deserved, we may add) time in the spot light. The slinky machine has been chosen to headline Australia’s first international concours d’elegance at the end of this month, where it will be joined by classic and exotic vehicles from around the world. Holden first debuted the Efijy back in 2005, and the car immediately garnered praise from hot rod fans and designers alike thanks to its ’50s-inspired lines and otherworldly powertrain. You see, under that retro skin sits a thoroughly modern driveline, including a chassis borrowed from a Chevrolet Corvette.

This thing isn’t just a looker, either. Under that lead-sled coupe hood sits a fire-breathing, supercharged, 6.0-liter LS2 V8. Should you decide to open up both taps, there’s a full 645 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque at your beck and call.

The Australian International Concourse d’Elegance kicks off on October 22 and runs until the 24th. Hit the jump to see the full press release.

Another Pebble Beach Concours has come and gone, the confetti has flown and the champagne has been imbibed. The somewhat surprising Best of Show selection has been entered into the record books, and now, we, your faithful Autobloggers, can finally get some rest. It’s been a grueling week full of new car unveilings, vintage car races, auctions and, of course, the Concours. As much as we enjoy every minute of it, and are sad to see it end, we’re always glad to be home again, sleeping in our own beds. But before we crawl back into our caves to slumber for another year, we have some unfinished business to take care of.

There are always thousands of images that don’t make it into the official posts, most of which are just as beautiful, and just as interesting. As you probably surmised if you’ve seen our coverage so far, this year’s Concours was truly spectacular – from the Dawn Patrol entrance of the twelve Jaguar XK-SS roadsters to the crowning of the champ, we’ve shown you the tributes to Indy, Alfa, and Jaguar, to the Ferrari SWB and Ghia… and now it’s time to show you all of the rest of the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. We’ve assembled a gallery of high-res images for you to peruse that covers what we didn’t cover to date. Call it a parting nod to you our readers and to all those who make this such a great event. 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Best of Show

Last year’s announcement of the Pebble Beach Best of Show felt almost anti-climactic. The winning Horch 853 was so stunning that we instantly thought it would be the grand champion the moment we laid eyes on it.

In contrast, this year’s show was a bit more wide open. There were literally dozens of cars that we thought had a chance to bring home the honors – but in the end it was The Patterson Collection’s 1933 Delage D8S De Villars Roadster that brought home the gold.

Kudos to them and the rest of the winners this year. We’ve assembled a gallery of the champion below and are working on a few more galleries showing you all of the featured classes as well. But for now, click below to see the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Best of Show 1933 Delage D8S De Villars Roadster.

Monterey 2010: Concours d’LeMons brings oil leaks and levity

2010 Concours d’Lemons – Click above for high-res image gallery

Monterey’s main event – the Concours d’Elegance – is underway on the 18th hole at Pebble Beach, but before the winner takes to the podium, here’s what the rest of us poor, oil-soaked wretches can related to.

The second annual Concours d’LeMons played host to the tired, huddled masses at the Toro Regional Park, with a random assortment of French, German, Japanese and American iron that will never grace the surgically manicured lawn behind The Lodge.

We started off watching a shortened VW van doing wheelies and stoppies in the parking lot, then took in the sights and smells of a rotary-powered Beetle, an Opel GT coated in Compuware ‘Vette livery, a 1948 Davis Divan, a few Pacers, a 2CV, a Gulfed Datsun 1600 and, yes, an Aztek, complete with full camping gear.

Get an eyeful in the gallery below and stay tuned for the real winner of Monterey… soon.

2011 Meadowbrook Concours moving to Plymouth, Michigan

Meadowbrook 2010

After more than a quarter century as a mid-summer fixture at Meadowbrook Hall in Rochester, Michigan, the annual Concours d’Elegance is moving in 2011. Come next summer, the renamed Concours d’Elegance of America will take place at the Inn at St, Johns in Plymouth, Michigan. The Inn is a significantly larger facility and will be able to accommodate the cars, their owners and visitors much better than the old mansion.

The Inn, a former catholic seminary, was renovated into a hotel with a 27-hole golf course in 2006. The concours organizers wanted a location with an on-site hotel and banquet facilities.
