Official: Edmunds settles with marketing firm accused of faking dealer reviews

Edmunds.com logoBack in July, Edmunds sued a Texas company named Humankind Design Ltd. for fraud and breach of contract. Among other services, Humankind Design claims to be an online reputation management company, but the lawsuit says that the site created 2,200 fake accounts in order to post positive dealerships reviews on Edmunds.com.

Now, Edmunds says that the case has been settled requiring Humankind Design to agree not to register users or submit reviews on Edmunds as well as providing information about the accounts and reviews it fraudulently created; Humankind Design also has to pay Edmunds an undisclosed monetary settlement for legal fees. Edmunds added that it is working with other identified sites – including Google+, Yelp and Foursquare – which Humankind Design may have also created fake reviews for in the past. The press release for the settlement is posted below as is the original release announcing the lawsuit in July.

Zagato, it turns out, isn’t the only coachbuilder working on a supercar based on an Aston Martin: a Danish outfit called HBH is reportedly planning to build model based on the V12 Vantage as well, but theirs will be a unique mid-engine design.

The company takes its name from its founders: Jesper Hermann, Christian Brandt and Torben Hartvig. Between them, they’ve worked on such small-run supercar projects as the Kleeman GTK, Zenvo ST1 and the Sondergard prototype.

Drawing inspiration from the 1979 Aston Martin Bulldog concept and from Lola’s Aston-powered LMP1 racer and the in-house AMR-One that followed, HBH is reportedly working Aston’s 6.0-liter V12 into a bespoke chassis.

So far HRH has only released the teaser image above, which we’ve lightened for a better view. The project is slated to be built as a solitary example for a single customer, who will retain the rights to the design as well as any prospect of its future production. In other words, if they find the right customer, they’ll build him one, but a further production run could be in the cards as well.

The Strand Craft Limousine Beach Cruiser is designed to shuttle the super-wealthy from luxury suites to their favorite resort’s pristine beaches in as much comfort and style as money can buy. Cooked up by Swedish firm Gray Design, the Beach Cruiser is powered by a 6.0-liter, 400 horsepower Chevrolet V8 pushing grunt to all four wheels, so guests never have to wait too long before hitting the sand.

Inside, Gray Design decked the Strand Craft out with the last word in luxury appointments. The upholstery is Alcantara set off with brushed aluminum and chrome accents on the dash and console. Watchmaker Breitling, famed for its relationship with Bentley, handled the instrumentation, while Swarovski Crystal accents take the opulence to obscene levels.

The Beach Cruiser’s stereo is a 15-speaker 1100-watt Naim audio system, which Gray Design says keeps sound quality optimal even with the limo’s canvas roof open. Strand Craft is mum on what this super shuttle will retail for, but you know what they say…
