Hey hypercar fans, are you in the mood for some Pagani porn? Well, close the shades and turn the lights down low because we’ve got footage of the Huayra playing nice with the camera. In the Veneto region of northern Italy lies the Adria International Raceway, and it hosted Pagani’s engineers as they played around with their new toy.

Click past the jump for footage of the Pagani Huayra posing for close-ups, revving its AMG-built 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12, and running down the track. You might not be able to pronounce the car’s name, but it sure looks good when it flies by.

Pagani Huayra on track

Pagani Huayra on track at Adria International Raceway – Click above to watch the video after the jump

Like a child has two parents, so does a Pagani. One is the niche automaker based in Modena whose name it bears. The other is Mercedes AMG. The latter develops and manufactures the engine, while the former does just about everything else. In the case of the new Huayra, you might say that Pagani disappointed in the styling department (though having seen it up close, we’d beg to differ) and threw us a curveball with the nameplate it chose. But there’s no arguing with the work those German engineers have undertaken at Affalterbach.

Don’t believe us? You don’t have to take us at our word. The videographers over at Marchettino, who regularly supply us with a stream of footage depicting Italy’s finest running at full bore, have sent us a clip of the new Huayra doing its thing at the Adria International Raceway, one of eight FIA-certified circuits in Italy. The footage is all shot attached to the rear bumper so you get the full aural sensation. Check it out after the jump. And for a more comprehensive perspective on the symbiotic relationship between Pagani and AMG that has produced the Huayra, head on over to the dedicated microsite.

Pagani Huayra U.S. dealer network announced, both located in California

This is a brief announcement for the wealthy-elite amongst us. Pagani has announced that there will be two locations in the United States where the purchase of a Huayra will be possible. Should you be interested in procuring such a vehicle, we hope you like California.

The Auto Gallery of Beverly Hills and British Motor Cars of San Francisco have been selected as Pagani’s official jumping-off point here in the U.S. Both locations will sell the Huayra, yet neither location will keep a vehicle in stock. A demo car will be stateside but it will be relegated to press events – you have our contact information, Pagani – and select client viewings.

Pagani will examine a need for the addition of more dealers to its U.S. distribution network. In the meantime, Huayra deliveries coordinated through the two California locations will begin arriving towards the beginning of 2012. No word yet on the Huayra’s official price tag but bring quite a bit extra to cover the 9.75 percent sales tax in Beverly Hills or 9.50 percent sales tax in San Francisco.

2011 Pagani Huayra – Click above to watch the video after the jump

You’ve seen the glorious new Pagani Huayra hurtling around the European countryside like the mystic wind it’s named for, but so far, the little details that really make the Huayra a Pagani have been scant.

Allow us to remedy that. The following video gets up close and personal with the glorious Huayra, and its level of fit and finish appears to be as ridiculous as its performance figures and deified lineage. From the buckled leather straps that hold down the front and rear decks, to the willowy, leaf-like carbon fiber rearview mirrors, this thing is every bit a super car.

What we like most is that none of this stuff, with the possible exception of the seat belts, appears to be parts-bin material. From the hand-formed quad exhaust, to the LED lighting, to the milled aluminum dash, Pagani has gone the extra five miles to make this car exclusive and unique. Given the price they’re expected to charge, such attention-to-detail only seems fair. Thanks for the tip, Marco!

Pagani Huayra in detail

The Pagani Huayra has finally shown its face in motion, carving up some beautiful European countryside to an ethereal soundtrack. This video is as pretentious as it is beautifully shot, which, for a car like the Huayra, may be exactly the right treatment… though perhaps a bit heavy handed in the imagined mythology.

In any case, introducing a car like this apparently requires allusions to mystical forces behind its construction, and Pagani delivers, likening the car to the wrath of ancient Andean gods. Like the mystical winds it’s named after, the Huayra seemingly sweeps along with an angry purpose. See for yourself in the video after the break.

Pagani Huayra in Need For Speed Shift 2 Unleashed

Need For Speed Shift 2 Unleashed Pagan Huayra – Click above to watch video after the jump

We hate to be the ones to tell you this, but chances are pretty slim that you’ll ever get the opportunity to slide behind the wheel of the new Pagani Huayra. Blame it on the numbers. Pagani is only planning on cranking out so many Huayra models, and there just so happens to be a shave under 7 billion people on the planet. Throw in the fact that each of the 700-horsepower Italian exotics will carry a price tag of near $1.35 million and the odds start to look even more bleak.

Hey, at least you’re in good company. We’re sitting in the exact same boat as you.

Fortunately for all of us, then, the Need for Speed franchise has come to our rescue. While we may not be able to find out in person just how fast 740 pound-feet of torque can move a 3,000 pound supercar, we will get a shot at flinging the carbon-fiber creation down a few virtual streets in Shift 2 Unleashed. In fact, the game is the only racing outlet to feature the newest addition to the Pagani family, so if you want to play with this bad boy, you’re going to have to pick up the latest addition to the Need for Speed library. Hit the jump for a quick trailer.

Pagani Huayra officially coming to U.S. market later this year

Pagani will bring its new Huayra supercar to the United States later this year, marking the first time the Italian car maker has officially sold vehicles in the country. Pagani’s first vehicle, the Zonda, was never retailed in the U.S. throughout its decade-long production run, although a handful of examples exist in private collections.

“We are thrilled at the opportunity to represent the Pagani brand in the United States and we look forward to the successful launch of the Huayra,” said Horacio Pagani regarding the announcement.

The Huayra, named after an ancient god of wind, is a stylistic departure from the Zonda with a much more curvacous shape and gullwing doors, but performance should be even more impressive with a twin-turbo V12 putting out 700 horsepower and a curb weight of under 3,000 pounds.

Pagani will announce plans to unveil the Huayra in the United States as well as more information regarding its dealer network and availability at a later date. Hit the jump for the press release from Pagani and be sure to browse through the high-res gallery of images below.

Pagani Huayra: Come on feel the noise – Click above to watch video after the jump

Pagani’s latest supercar has wrapped up its endless teaser routine and the covers have officially come off the gullwing Huayra. And while we’ve already gotten the specs and seen the pics, the crew from EVO got a sneak peak at the Huayra in Italy and managed to snag some video of Pagani’s newest creation.

It may be missing the hard-charging action we so desperately crave, but we do get to hear the engine and get a very brief view of the chrome-clad interior. Hop past the jump to see for yourselves. Also, it scares puppies.

Pagani Huayra makes its official web debut

Pagani Huayra

Pagani Huayra – Click above for high-res image gallery

After taking a look at our high-res image gallery below, we were tempted to say the Pagani Huayra made its o-fish-ial web debut… but we won’t. Oh, wait.

In any case, Pagani’s newest supercar can now be seen in all its glory, and we generally approve of the overall styling, despite the fact it’s got something of a bottom-feeder fascia up front. Moving past that, we see a pretty serious set of gullwing doors and enough slats, flares and strakes to fill the sketchbook of a Boeing designer.

All those aero aids will surely come in handy when all the fury of the Mercedes-Benz AMG-built 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine is unleashed on the hapless pair of rear tires – the Huayra is said to be capable of speeds up near 230 miles per hour.

Over 700 horsepower and about 740 pound-feet of torque will be sent to the ground through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Couple that with a weight of just under 3,000 pounds – aided by copious amounts of carbon fiber – and you have the makings of a 21st century rear-wheel drive rocket ship.

Inside you’ll find all the luxury touches you’d expect, including a cockpit slathered in beautiful hides and exposed aluminum and carbon fiber. You’ll also bask in the glowing blue gauges and multi-function display that controls audio, navigation and communications gadgetry.

Even if we’re just a tad stuck on that front fascia, there’s simply no arguing with this level of performance. Have a close look at the Huayra below, then check out the (translated) press release after the break.

Pagani Zonda successor to be called Huayra?

Spy Shots: Pagani C9 – Click above for high-res image gallery

It looks like we may have an inkling as to what Pagani will call its next supercar. According to the Italian web site Al Volante, the company has gone through the hassle of registering the name “Huayra.” The nearly unpronounceable moniker sticks the company’s tradition of branding its products after the famous winds of the world (not unlike many Volkswagen and Maserati models). In this case, Huayra is the word for “wind” from the ancient South American language of Quechua. Either that, or the company’s marketing department threw alphabet soup at the wall until they came up with a suitable smattering of vowels and consonants.

Until now, the next Pagani has simply gone by the internal code name C9. And while the company has been kind enough to share a strange video teaser with the world, hard facts about what we can expect from the Zonda successor are few and far between. There’s some indication that the beast will pack a mighty V12, and we’d be surprised if it didn’t have enough horsepower to melt asphalt at a whim, but otherwise, we’re completely in the dark as to what to expect. Thanks for the tip, JH!
