German tuning house Hamann isn’t known for producing boring vehicles, and its latest projected, dubbed the Victory II, is a prime example. Based off the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4, the Victory II features a completely new look thanks to all new body panels, functional roof inlet, rear wing and 20-inch Hamann wheels. Inside, the car gets new carbon fiber sport seats and custom upholstery.

With the LP560-4 already producing 552 bhp and 398 lb-ft torque, Hamann decided to do only minor modifications to the 5.2L V10. New engine programming results in 20 more horsepower and an additional 26 lb-ft, resulting in a new top speed of 204 mph.

You can read more about the Hamann Victory II in the press release after the jump, or browse through the images from its studio photoshoot in the gallery below.

Lamborghini LP700-4 Order Guide

We’ve heard plenty of speculation about Lamborghini’s upcoming Murciélago replacement, the LP700-4, and now a leaked dealer order guide gives us a glimpse of exactly what we can expect from the new flagship Raging Bull.

The LP700-4 (or Aventador, or Jota, as it’s been known) is powered by a 6.5-liter V12 with 690 horsepower and 509 pound-feet of torque on tap, routed to the ground via all-wheel drive. Lamborghini’s new seven-speed independent shifting rod (ISR, read about it here) transmission is fitted to the new supercar, and the automaker is claiming super-quick shift times of just 50 milliseconds. That, combined with a dry weight of only 3,472 pounds, means that the LP700-4 will sprint to 62 miles per hour in just 2.9 seconds. That, friends, is fast.

In the leaked dealer order guide, which you can see for yourself in our high-res image gallery, Lamborghini details out the whole host of standard and optional equipment for the new LP700-4. New colors like Grigio Estoque and Arancio Argos are available for the exterior, and many different color choices can be had for the Sportivo interior, with or without Alcantara. Of course, high-tech goodies like sat-nav, iPod and USB connectivity and Bluetooth are standard fare, not to mention a giant heaping of street cred.

Lamborghini to celebrate Italy with Tricolore edition Gallardo?

Filed under: Coupe, Performance, Geneva Motor Show, Lamborghini, Rumormill

Image above for illustrative purposes only

Two weeks ago reports began to surface that Lamborghini could be preparing to launch a new two-tone Bicolore edition of the Gallardo at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show. But since the pace of the automotive industry is unrelenting, this week’s reports indicate that a Tricolore edition could be in the works, too.

So… a two-tone special followed by a three-tone one? We must have lost something in the translation here. And we almost did. Word has it that the second special-edition Gallardo will not be a three-tone model, but a Tricolore in the sense of the Italian flag. The country, you see, is preparing to celebrate 150 years of unification, a national milestone which Lamborghini very well might celebrate with a commemorative patriotic edition featuring the red, white and green.

Then again, it could just be a three-tone paint job. We’ll have to wait and see, with sources tipping the Tricolore edition’s launch to take place in Geneva in March.

Lamborghini Aventador spied… on Facebook? *Update

Filed under: Spy Photos, Coupe, Performance, Lamborghini

Lamborghini Aventador spy shot

‘Tis the dawn of a new digital age, friends. A new spy shot of what is very likely to be called the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 has been spotted on the world’s most ubiquitous social networking site: Facebook. It seems the pic was snapped and uploaded to the web by a member of the Lamborghini Club of Los Angeles.

Although mostly obscured by what looks to be some sort of electrical tape (or vinyl wrap, or something…), we still get a clear look at the basic wedge-like shape of Lambo’s next supercar. The family resemblance to the Miura, Countach, Diablo and Murcielago is clear, with more than a little Reventon-esque flair thrown in for good measure. Not a bad history to draw from, eh?

With its new clean-sheet 6.5-liter V12 expected to punch out 700 horsepower and 509 pound-feet of torque, the Aventador ought to have plenty of brawn to match the racy looks of its carbon fiber shell. We look forward to finding out for sure…

*Update: Turns out this isn’t really a spy shot at all, but a picture taken while the car was being given the initial once-over by some our our journalist friends.

Report: Lamborghini would choose four-door over SUV

Lamborghini Estoque concept

Lamborghini remains intent on adding a third model to its range. This, straight from the proverbial lion’s mouth – that of the company’s affable CEO Stephan Winkelmann, who would like a new model to attract new buyers to the brand. The question is, what form will that new model take?

According to a new report from Autocar, the most likely scenario is a production version of the Estoque concept sedan unveiled in Paris a couple years back. Previous reports suggested a successor to the LM002 sport-utility vehicle could be in the works. But while either model could borrow underpinnings from within the Volkswagen Group (the Porsche Panamera or Audi A7 for the Estoque or the Porsche Cajun/Audi Q5 for the LM00X), enabling a faster and more cost-effective development process, Winkelmann seems to like the idea of the Estoque better.

Building the Estoque could also potentially lead to more variants as well, including a front-engined coupe and convertible, while the LM002 would, in all likelihood, be a single-model proposition.

Us? We just hope that the new model (whatever it is) gets built soon. In the case of the Estoque, there’s nothing worse than a painfully slow gestation of an already aging concept car to kill buzz.

Video: Lamborghini Gallardo vs. the other Callaway

Click above to watch the video after the jump

On a good drive Stuart Appleby can launch a golf ball at about 174 miles per hour. A Lamborghini Gallardo can approach speeds of 200 miles per hour. Golf and Italian exotics typically don’t have much in common, but like the Gallardo, the new Callaway Diablo Octane driver uses forged composite carbon to reduce weight and increase speed. So the two companies got together to pit the golfer against the pavement-pounding LP560-4 to see if Appleby can drive a golf ball 250 meters faster than the Gallardo can travel the same distance from a rolling start.

The supercar is moving fast as it crosses the start, and Appleby appears to hit the ball at almost exactly the same time. At first glance the Lambo goes full-throttle right through the finish line without any sign of the ball, but a slo-mo examination shows a truly amazing result. We have no idea how many takes it took to get this incredible finish, but it’s amazing enough to take a closer look. Or three. Check it out after the jump.

Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera Video

Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera chases a Porsche 911 GT3 through Paris – Click above to watch video after the jump

Before we go salivating all over the thought of two of Europe’s best and brightest going the distance through the City of Lights, we should probably start off with an obligatory “don’t try this at home.” The kids you see sliding around the Parisian streets in the video after the jump are trained professionals working in a semi-controlled environment, so do us all a favor and keep your reenactments confined to your Need For Speed marathons.

That said, the video is a well-shot interpretation of what a full lap of Paris might look like as a Porsche 911 GT3 and a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera go fender-to-fender. Our early money was on the Raging Bull strolling away with the checkered flag, but Stuttgart’s finest seemed to have no problem keeping the big bad Italian behind its winged tail-end as the two snake around the French capitol. Hit the jump to see the action for yourself.

Video: Lamborghini Murcielago production end honored with V12 parade

Lamborghini Parade

After nine years and 4,099 examples produced, the Lamborghini Murciélago has reached the end of its production cycle. A new V12-equipped Lambo is on the horizon, but before that beast roars to life the Italian automaker decided to take its resident raging bull for one more lap through Sant’Agata Bolognese.

Not content to trot the Murciélago out alone, Lamborghini also lined up a 350 GT, Miura, Countach and Diablo to escort the Super Veloce. Baby-brother Gallardo also gets in on the parade action by means of the local polizia. The whole affair was captured on video and, while it might not be action packed, it is packed with beautiful and exotic examples of Lamborghini’s history.
Hop the jump to watch the Murciélago take on final victory lap through its hometown.

Report: Production Lamborghini Sesto Elemento will be for track use only

Filed under: Concept Cars, Coupe, Performance, Europe, Lamborghini

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

It sounds like we can forget all about cruising South Beach in the upcoming Lamborghini Sesto Elemento. According to Autocar, The Raging Bull is planning to build the carbon-fiber terror as a limited production model for track duty only. Thanks to its unique construction, the Sesto Elemento should hit the scales at less than 2,200 pounds, all while boasting the same drivetrain as the wicked Superleggera. This promises to be one very fast machine, but chances are it will carry a price tag to match. Autocar is reporting that the newest addition to the Lamborghini stable will likely go for Reventón money. With an MSRP of over $1.6 million, you certainly won’t be seeing these parked in every paddock.

That’s all the more true given that Autocar suspects that Lamborghini will build less than 20 examples of the Sesto Elemento. Who knew that rare birds were built from forged carbon fiber?

LA 2010: Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante

Lamborghini didn’t commandeer a space at the LA Auto Show itself, preferring to host an exclusive gathering across town for the reveal of the Gallardo Spyder Performante. As usual, even though we’re speaking of a subtly tweaked Gallardo Spyder whose finest revelations couldn’t even be seen, it was worth the trip.

The lightweight droptop sheds more than 140 pounds versus the standard offering, and gains a meaner visage to make its point. The eye candy that could be seen – additional eye candy, that is – was wrapped in Alcantara and carbon fiber, and would you get a look at those tailpipes…

In fact, enough with the words – feast your eyes on the gallery of high-res photos below live from Lambo’s exclusive party. You can read more details about the car in the official press release after the jump.
