With a whole raft of new models in the pipeline, Lotus has some very big plans for the future. But what does that mean for its existing lineup – most notably the Evora, the newest among them? Earlier reports indicated that Lotus was working on a substantial facelift for the mid-engined 2+2 to bring it in line with its more aggressive new design language. And it very well might be still. But that’s not what Lotus has in store for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.

Instead, Lotus is asking the public, “Is it always wise to customize?” Well from our point of view, it’s certainly not always prudent, but it can be sometimes. From our perspective, precious few of those times, unfortunately, are realized when Mansory is involved, as the tuner dubiously improves on production vehicles as it typically does with outlandish paint jobs and garish interiors. But every once in a while, Mansory gives an existing car a re-skin – usually in carbon fiber – that makes us stop and take another look. Like the Aston Martin DB9 Cyrus and the Bugatti Veyron Vincero. And so it appears to have done with the Lotus Evora.

Commissioned by the factory, Mansory’s take on the Evora is meant to demonstrate what’s possible in the aftermarket. It looks kitted-out with enough carbon to make an F1 car jealous, but we’ll reserve final judgment for when we see it in person at the fast-approaching show. In the meantime, you’re invited (lucky you) to follow the jump for the official statement and check out the pair of images released in the gallery below.

Fenice Milano’s Rolls-Royce Ghost “Diva” makes Mansory look tasteful

Between the gallons of chrome and the Spirit of Ecstasy protruding from its prominent grille, the contemporary offerings from Rolls-Royce have become a favorite among the bling crowd. But there are always those looking for something more outlandish. We thought Mansory had them covered with their take on the Ghost, but even that’s looking subdued in comparison to Fenice Milano’s Diva.

Decked out in more gold than an aging Mediterranean playboy’s neck, the Diva edition takes the borderline tasteful way over the top. The hood, grille, side sills and mirrors have all been coated in 24-karat gold, as has the interior, along with custom teak, leather and Alcantara trim. It’s enough to make Liberace spin in his grave, and if you’re wearing your gold D&G sunglasses, you can check it out for yourself in the gallery below and the press release after the jump.

Mansory Maserati Gran Turismo S throttles good taste within an inch of its life

Mansory, a “specialist for refining luxury automobiles,” has had its way with the Maserati GranTurismo and GranTurismo S. The black-and-redness you see above is the result. Carbon fiber does duty on spoilers and aprons at the front and back, as well as the grille and trim for the new duct work. It’s definitely… polarizing, but this one-off Maser is certainly less outrageous than some of Mansory’s other creations.

There are about 30 more horses under the hood, and a tuned suspension will have you rolling 30 millimeters lower to the ground via a set of Mansory-designed wheels. If you want to know more, check out the press release after the jump. If you think you’re ready to lay eyes on it, there’s a gallery of high-res photos below.

Mansory’s Bugatti Veyron Linea Vincero d’Oro maxes out the gold card

Bugatti Veyron Linea Vincero d'Oro

We know what you’ve been thinking: All the Bugatti Veyron needs is a little more flash. Are we good, or are we good? Anathematic as the thought might be to some, there are others on this planet who are always looking for another way to show off their wealth, instead of hiding it in offshore accounts. And for those flashy few, there is Mansory.

Along with such gaudy monstrosities as the Pepto-pink Bentley and the Polo Sport-on-acid Porsche Panamera, Mansory has modified the Veyron with the Linea Vincero range of accessories, including a full aero kit (in case the Volkswagen empire hadn’t invested enough in getting the Veyron’s aerodynamics just right) and highly polished carbon-fiber body panels that include copper threads interwoven into the material for even more flash. The Vincero d’Oro, unbelievably, upgrades with gold brightwork on the wheels, V-shaped grille, door handles, mirror housings, fuel filler cap, headlight washer nozzles, headlight surrounds and roof. Naturally, the interior has been subjected to the gilded treatment as well.

The good news is that Mansory has only created the one example. The bad news is that they’ll gladly perform the same on any existing Veyron. It’s at times like these we’re glad we don’t live in Dubai. Details in the press release after the jump, high-resolution images in the gallery below.
