Roland Sands photoshoot

Roland Sands photo shoot – Click above to watch video after the jump

By almost all accounts, we’ve got a pretty sweet gig here. We drive new cars, write up a few words, snap a few pictures and share the whole shindig with you in what is truly one of the finest slices of fried employment around. But that doesn’t mean we don’t get jealous of other occupations or the gents that work them. Take Roland Sands, for example. The man designs and builds some of the most beautiful custom bikes, helmets and cars around, and recently, he partnered up with Jamie Robinson for a full photo shoot.

How’d it go? Let’s just say that while we’ve had some pretty good days at the office, none of them have ever compared to the day Sands had while strutting some of his hardware. Hit the jump to check out the video for yourself, though do be warned; some of the scenes may not be safe for cubical-viewing.

At 219 mph, the Brabus iBusiness 2.0 is the world’s fastest Apple-obsessed office

Brabus iBusiness 2.0

Brabus does bonkers. So when it decided to cook up the latest iteration of its rolling ode to executive connectivity, it went all out – both under the hood and inside the leather-clad cabin – so lets work from the inside out.

The conversion of the rather staid Mercedes-Benz S-Class into the Brabus “iBusiness 2.0” begins in the boot, with a Mac Mini mounted in a leather-lined tray inside the trunk. The Mac connects up with a 15.2-inch TFT, 16:9 aspect ratio display that mechanically unfolds from the alcantara-coated headliner and can also be used as an auxiliary display for the – not one, but two – iPad 2s mounted in the electronically deployed and adjustable custom tables mounted behind the two front seats. The tables secure both the tablets and a Apple Bluetooth keyboard, and allow the Russian mobster in back to chat with his Swedish princess over Apple’s Facetime video conferencing system.

Naturally, all this tech isn’t any good without solid connectivity, and to that end, Brabus has fitted the S with a WiFi network comprised of UMTS and HDSPA networking to wireless wire everything together. More impressive, the German tuner developed a custom app for the iPads that allows backseat passengers to control every aspect of Mercedes’ COMAND infotainment system. Jeeves will not be pleased…

When it’s time to crank up the tunes, a 64-gig Apple iPod Touch is mounted in the rear center console and sends music to either the standard S-Class sound system or a pair of Sennheiser Noise Gard headphones, which can also be used to plumb in one of a few hundred channels provided by the wireless DVBT television receiver.

And naturally, since this is Brabus, the package wouldn’t be complete without a serious dose of pavement-pummeling power. The Brabus 800 iBusiness 2.0 lives up to its name with 800 horsepower and 1,047 pound-feet of torque pulled from the twin-turbocharged V12, shuttling the S to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and on to an electronically-limited top speed of 219 mph. If you’re less interested in the power and more enthralled by the tech, Brabus is offering the complete iBusiness 2.0 package for any S-Class – from the lowly S 350 to the aforementioned S 65 – but if you take your life on the road seriously, why opt for anything less? Full details in the press blast after the break.

Video: Man imagines he’s racing under anesthesia at the dentist’s office

Dentist Chair Hoon

Anesthetics are a wonderful thing. Aside from protecting our fragile psyches from the horrors of witnessing a trained professional go all choppin’-broccoli on our insides, they also allow for a certain level of hilarity that’s difficult to emulate without the assistance of modern chemistry. Need proof? Look no further than the video after the jump. In it, reader Matt is knocked out cold in preparation for the removal of his wisdom teeth. With his body trapped in an oral surgeon’s chair, Matt’s mind apparently retreated to the safety of somewhere a little more comforting – somewhere like the driver’s seat of his favorite sports car.

While Matt says he has no recollection of the entire surgery, office staff and family members say that he was slamming gears the entire time he was out. We do have to commend him on a well-executed heel-toe downshift, but it looks like that missed shift from third to fourth likely cost him the championship. There’s always next year, man. Hit the jump to check out the clip for yourself. Thanks for the good sense of humor and the tip, Matt!
