Luca di Montezemolo puts the new Stratos through its paces – Click above to watch video after the jump

Don’t let anyone tell you that Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo can’t drive. The boss of one of the world’s most exclusive supercar brands recently took the time to hot-shoe the resurrected Stratos around the Fiorano race track in Italy. While watching a brand executive put a car through its paces is rare enough, it’s even more surprising to hear di Montezemolo heap praise on a vehicle without a Prancing Horse on the hood, even if there’s a 4.3-liter Ferrari V8 at the heart of the new car.

Throw in the fact that the new interpretation of one of Italy’s most iconic rally heathens looks and sounds the part, and you’ve got all the makings of juicy video clip.

Have we mentioned just how badly we want one of these? Hit the jump to watch the video for yourself.

Chris Burden's Metropolis 2

Chris Burden’s Metropolis 2 – Click above to watch video after the jump

Like most normal Americans, thoughts of exactly what we’d do if we had all the money in the world and not a care to burden us occupy a fair portion of our mental capacity each day. Chances are that if we slept on a bed of Benjamins, our daylight hours would be spent crafting a mechanized achievement akin to the contraption in the video after the jump. In one fell swoop, the creators have combined two our true passions: diecast cars and convoluted, yet pointless machinery.

The diecast traffic jam is fittingly called “Metropolis 2,” and it was created by artist Chris Burden. Built using 1,500 Hot Wheels, the installation is headed to LACMA for a long-term loan in the near future. Art and toy fans alike can catch the mesmerizing miniature action at the museum soon. Hit the jump for a mesmerizing preview.

2011 Audi RS3 gets the silent film treatment – Click above to watch video after the jump

We already let you know earlier this week that Audi has unveiled the 2011 RS3 five-door hot hatch, and now we have video of the sporty German schnell machine.

Unfortunately, this is not a video for those eager to hear the 340 horsepower turbocharged 2.5-liter inline five-cylinder engine or the screaming of four abused rounds of rubber. The clip we have is more of a put-on-your-favorite-song and stare. The six-and-a-half minute clip gives you the a solid glimpse at the Audi RS3 both inside and out, but there is no sound nor fury to he had. Still, beggars can’t be choosers and we will take a few minutes of virtual alone time over no time at all.

Queue up some tunes, turn down the lights and hop the jump to ogle the 2011 Audi RS3.

Jaguar C-X75 with Jay Leno

Jay Leno drives the Jaguar CX75 Concept – Click above to watch video after the jump

Here’s another feather for Jay Leno’s cap. The Tonight Show host can officially say that he is one of only a handful of drivers to have slipped their way behind the wheel of the amazing Jaguar C-X75 concept from this year’s Paris Motor Show. Penned by design guru Ian Callum, the supercar is as sexy as it is advanced. The vehicle gets its power from a quartet of electric motors that are good for 195 horsepower each. Throw in two small turbine engines for generating power and you’ve got one very unconventional extended-range hybrid.

The C-X75 was designed to celebrate the Leaping Cat’s diamond anniversary, and as such, the company pulled all the stops. With a design that pulls from the most successful points in Jaguar history, the car is nothing short of gorgeous. Will it make it to production? We’re not sure, but for the moment, you can hit the jump to watch Leno take it all in – and don’t forget to watch for an appearance by Callum, too.

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit – Click above to watch video after the jump

Electronic Arts isn’t pulling any punches in the run-up to the release of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. The studio sent two of the world’s most lust-worthy Italilan exotics to go frolic through the countryside in a live-action interpretation of the game’s premise. The video stars one wayward Pagani Zonda Cinque on the run from a very stubborn Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 and its accompanying air support. The whole tale is set to La Roux’s “Not Your Toy” remixed by the ever crafty Nero. It’s as fitting a soundtrack as we could imagine.

The video is, of course, dripping with high-horsepower slides and vaporized rear tires at the hands of legendary stunt drivers Marc Hennerici and Marc Basseng. Sound appetizing? Hit the jump to sink your teeth into the jaw-dropping spot.

Rhys Millen Time Attack

Rhys Millen and his Time Attack Hyundai Genesis Coupe tear up Brazil – Click above to watch video after the jump

Rhys Millen has packed up his passport, many sets of tires, a camera crew and his RMR-prepped Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Destination: Brazil.

More specifically, Millen has taken his 750 horsepower smoke monster to the Serra do Rio do Rastro mountain range. Located in southeastern Brazil and coated in some delectable tarmac, it’s yet another photogenic location for the Genesis Coupe to practice burnt rubber calligraphy.

Of course, this won’t the Millen’s first hill climb. In 2009, he set the Pike’s Peak 2WD Time Attack class record while issues with his PM850 hampered an attempt at true glory in the unlimited class. You can check Rhys and the RMR/Red Bull Hyundai Genesis Coupe running the hills of Brazil after the jump. It’s only a teaser clip, but it does it’s job and will certainly leave you wanting more.

Subaru Impreza Design Concept Video

Subaru Impreza Design Concept Video – Click above to watch video after the jump

Subaru has given us all a computer-generated look at what the company’s new Impreza Design Concept looks like in motion. Frolicking above the waves on some sort of futuristic glass highway, the sedan looks just as well sorted and attractive as it did lounging on stage at the LA Auto Show. The quick clip doesn’t just show the four-door prancing through cyberspace, though. We also get a quick glimpse of the vehicle’s active braking system and Jetsons interior, too.

The Subaru Impreza Design Concept gets its power from the company’s third-generation boxer four-cylinder engine. With 2.0 liters of naturally-aspirated goodness and a CVT, Subaru says that the concept should be easy on the wallet when it comes time to fill up the tank. Naturally, we’re far more interested in the next iteration of the WRX and its STI sibling… Hit the jump to check out the video for yourself. Just be sure to brace yourself for the smooth sound of synthesizer action.

Skoda Fabia vRS Commerical

Skoda Fabia vRS commercial – Click above to watch video after the jump

Skoda is busy pushing its new Fabia vRS on the unsuspecting public across the pond with a new ad for the pint-sized hatch. Far from the cuddly machines of the competition, the Fabia vRS is apparently hewn melted-down katana swords, razor wire, snake venom and burnt rubber. Even the windshield wipers are constructed from bits of a crossbow, at least in make-believe land. The spot features manly men doing manly things to build the little five-door. Sure does make you wonder what goes into putting the 2011 Dodge Challenger 392 together.

Hit the jump to take a look at the video yourself.

50 Cent cash in Lamborghini

50 Cent loads his Murcielago down with cash – Click above to watch video after the jump

We’ve seen some pretty bizarre automotive trends on the web over the past few years, but this one, friends, takes the cake. Celebrities are suddenly no longer content to flash their wealth with expensive, ultra-rare cars. Nope. Now they have to stuff them with cash. Rapper 50 Cent is the latest to hop on this bandwagon by shoving stacks of cash into the nose of his Lamborghini Murcielago. We think that we can pretty fairly say that the hero of the film after the jump has successfully gotten rich without dying while trying.

Hit the jump to see for yourself.

Video: Japanese man builds $500,000 house in single parking space

Parking Space House

A house built in the area of a parking space – Click above to watch video after the jump

As Americans, our concept of a normal-sized home has grown by leaps and bounds over the decades. In her book Living Large, author Sarah Wexler says that the average home size in the U.S. grew from 983 square feet in 1950 to 2,349 square feet in 2004, and it doesn’t look to be shrinking any time soon. It’s not like that everywhere. Just look at what ingenious architects in Japan are up to. With both space and funds at a minimum, builders and property owners alike are looking to get the most out of every square foot, even going so far as to build a two-person home on the same footprint as an average-sized parking space.

To make it happen, designers have employed a number of space-saving tricks, including a triangular spiral staircase that decreases the minimum radius needed for going up and appliances that are stashed under counters and in unique cubbies. Doesn’t sound like a bad way to go, if you ask us. Hit the jump to see a video of the house for yourself.
